Privacy Statement
This explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
The details you type into your profile — your name, age, location, photos, and everything you write about yourself and the person you hope to meet. The messages, files, smiles and photo reactions you send. Whether you have verified your email address. If you pay for Premium, the payment details you send us — such as the reference number, the sender's name and address, and your email — and anything you write to us in the billing form. If you pay with PayPal, PayPal sends us the transaction ID, the payer's name and email, and the amount paid; your card or bank details stay with PayPal and are never sent to us. And the ordinary technical records any website keeps: your IP address, the time you signed in, and which browser you used.
What other members can see
Your profile and your approved photos are visible to other signed-in members, with a badge if you are Premium or have verified your email. Your email address, your password and your sign-in records are not — those are never shown to anyone. Blocking someone hides you from them; they are not told that you blocked them.
A file you send in a message can only be opened by you and the member you sent it to. When someone reacts to your photo, only you can see who it was.
What our team can see
Our team reviews the photos you upload before other members see them. When a member reports you, or you report a member, our team can see the reported message and the recent messages between the two of you, so we can look into it. We do not read your messages otherwise.
Automatic photo checks
The photos you upload, and the photos you send in messages, are checked automatically by Amazon Rekognition, a service of Amazon Web Services. It tells us whether a photo shows nudity, and whether it looks like a real photo of a person. We use the answer only to keep nude photos off the site and to point our team to photos that need a closer look. We do not use it to identify who you are.
Where your photos and files are kept
Photos and message files are stored with Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3). Your profile photos can be viewed by signed-in members once approved; message files are kept private and are only handed to the two people in the conversation.
What we do with it
We use it to run the site: to show you members who match what you are looking for, to deliver your messages, to process your payments, and to spot accounts that are here to defraud people. We do not sell your details.
Emails we send
We email you about your account — for example the link to verify your email address. We may also send news and offers; you can stop those with the Unsubscribe link in any of those emails, or under Email settings in your account. We also post notifications on the site, for example when someone views your profile or reacts to your photo, and reminders about your Premium plan.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is open. When you delete a photo, it is removed from our storage. When you unsend a message, it is no longer shown to either of you and any file in it is deleted; we keep the text in our records so our team can look into a report. When both people remove a message from their messages, any file in it is deleted. If you deactivate, your profile stops being visible to other members. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your profile and photos, and keep only what we are required to keep, such as payment records.
What you can ask for
A copy of what we hold about you, a correction, or deletion. Write to privacy@filipinotodate.com and we will answer.
Cookies
We use a cookie to keep you signed in. Without it, you would have to enter your password on every page. The cookie lasts up to one year and renews each time you visit, so you stay signed in on that device until you log out. It holds only a random code that links your device to your account — not your password. If you use a shared or public device, always log out when you are done. You can sign out of all your other devices under Change password in your account.
