Terms & Conditions

By signing up you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose — please read them.

Who can join

You must be 18 or older. One account per person. The details on your profile must be your own and must be true, and the photos must be of you.

How to behave here

Treat other members the way you would want to be treated. Do not harass anyone, do not post anything illegal or explicit, and do not use the site to advertise, to recruit, or to ask members for money.

Asking another member for money — for a ticket, a phone, a medical bill, or anything else — will get your account closed.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself. Anything done from your account is treated as done by you. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got in. You can change your password any time under Change password in your account.

You stay logged in on a device until you log out, so always log out on a shared or public device. You can log out of all your other devices at any time under Change password, and changing your password does this for you. We may log you out of your account for security reasons — for example when you tell us someone else got in — or when your account is suspended.

Photos

You can keep up to 20 photos plus your profile photo. Every photo must be of you, and must not contain nudity or sexual content.

When you upload a photo, it is checked automatically. A photo that shows nudity is not accepted. A photo that looks like a cartoon, a drawing, or does not show a real face is marked for our team to look at. Every photo is then reviewed by a person before other members can see it, and we can remove any photo that breaks these terms.

Members can react to your approved photos with an emoji. Each member can react once to each photo, and a reaction cannot be changed or taken back. Only you can see who reacted to your photos.

Messages and files

You can send text, emoji and files in your messages — photos, PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, text, MP3 or MP4, up to 10 MB each. Files are only for the member you are messaging. Photos you send are checked automatically, and a photo that shows nudity is not sent. Do not send nude or sexual content, and do not ask anyone for it.

Every message counts toward your daily limit on a Standard account, including a message that is only a file. You can Unsend your own message — it is removed for both of you — or Remove any message from your own messages. When you Report a message, our team can see that message and the recent messages between you, so we can look into it.

What we can do

We can remove a photo, hide a profile, or close an account that breaks these terms — usually after a look by a person, and immediately where someone is being put at risk.

Voice and video calls

Calls connect your device directly to the other member's. We do not record, store or listen to the sound or video of any call. We only keep a short record that a call happened — who called whom, when, and whether it was answered — so we can show it to you and look into a report.

The rules for messages apply to calls too, and a few more:

  • Only call someone who is happy to talk. If they decline or do not answer, do not keep calling.
  • No nudity or sexual content on camera, and do not ask anyone for it.
  • Do not record, screenshot or share a call — or anything from it — without the other person's clear permission.
  • Never use something from a call to pressure, threaten or blackmail anyone, or to ask for money. This gets your account closed straight away and may be reported to the police.
  • Do not call anyone who may be under 18.

We cannot stop the other person recording their own screen, so share only what you would be comfortable with them keeping. If a call makes you uncomfortable, hang up, then use Block — they can no longer call or message you — and Report so our team can look at it.

Calls need a camera and microphone, and permission for the site to use them. The quality depends on both of your connections, so a call may drop or fail to connect; that is not a fault we can refund. Starting a voice or video call needs a Premium account (see below); any member can answer one.

Standard and Premium accounts

Every account starts as Standard, which is free. A Premium account is a paid plan. What each one includes:

  • Standard — a daily number of messages that you earn by filling in your account (see below). Women can message any member until they reach their daily number. Men can reply to members who message them first, but cannot send the first message, and can message up to 3 different members in any 7 days. You can answer voice and video calls, but you cannot start them.
  • Premium — message any member, unlimited messages, and unlimited voice and video calls, for as long as your plan runs.

On either plan, your profile must be at least 70% complete before you can use the site with other members. Until it is:

  • other members cannot see your profile or find you in search;
  • you cannot read or send messages, or start calls;
  • you cannot send smiles, see the smiles you receive, add favorites, or react to photos.

Nothing sent to you is lost while you finish — it is waiting for you. If you are on Premium, the time on your plan still runs while your profile is below 70%. If your profile drops below it later, for example because a photo is removed, the same limits apply until you fix it.

On a Standard account you cannot send messages until your profile is complete. After that, your daily messages are:

  • Complete your profile — 50 messages a day.
  • Add a profile photo — 30 more.
  • Upload 3 more photos to your gallery — 20 more.
  • Verify your email address — 20 more. We send you a link when you sign up; you can ask for a new one from your account.

These bonuses only count while they stay true: if a photo is removed, or our team rejects it under these terms, the bonus for it goes away too. A photo that is still waiting for review counts.

The daily message count starts again every day at midnight. You can see how much you have used today in your account — tap your photo at the top of the menu. When a Premium plan ends and is not renewed, the account goes back to Standard and the Standard limits apply again; your messages and matches are kept. We may change what each plan includes, but we will tell you first, and a change will not take away anything from a Premium plan you have already paid for.

Paid plans and payments

Prices are shown before you pay. A plan runs for the period you bought and does not renew on its own unless you were told so at the time and agreed to it.

If you pay with PayPal, your account is upgraded as soon as PayPal confirms the payment, usually within a minute. PayPal's own terms also apply to that payment. Other payments are sent through outside services (for example Ria, Skrill, WorldRemit, Remitly, remittance centers, GCash or Maya). After you pay, send us the reference number from your receipt; we check it and upgrade your account, usually within 2 to 8 hours. Your plan starts when the payment is confirmed — or, if you still have time left, it is added on after that.

Payments are non-refundable, including for time left on a plan if you close your account or it is closed for breaking these terms. Fees that your payment service charges are yours. If you send the wrong amount, or we cannot find your payment, we will tell you and help sort it out.

We remind you in your Notifications when your Premium has 10 days left, when it has 5 days left, and when it ends. Questions about a payment can be sent with the form under Billing in your account, or by email to payment@filipinotodate.com.

Emails and notifications from us

We send you emails about your account, such as the link to verify your email address. We may also send news and offers; you can stop those any time with the Unsubscribe link in the email, or under Email settings in your account. Emails about your account are still sent.

We may also post announcements to your Notifications, from FilipinoToDate.

What we do not promise

We give you a place to meet people. We cannot promise that you will meet anyone, and we cannot vouch for what another member tells you. Use the same judgement you would use meeting anyone new.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you before the change takes effect.
